Yes, kdrive is in regular XFree86 sources. It lives in
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/kdrive.  And xc/config/cf/TinyX.cf has
instructions to use host.def to build it. 

I'm not aware of any docs beside the Xkdrive manual page and the
source itself.
